This represents the greater portion of my work, and focus of compositional exploration. I am as yet undecided how I want to approach titles for this work, so I have kept descriptions minimal here. All work is acrylic and acrylic mediums, with some mixed media, on board or canvas.

The Large Aquatic Piece
This painting represents 2 years of work, from flat surface to 3D relief. It is the largest piece I have painted in years, and the largest stretched canvas. This painting attempts to demonstrate many levels of motion and space that can be created through layered semi-automatist composition. It is, more over, where the living qualities of each stroke of paint were most powerfully revealed to me. I new, from painting this, that each stroke was a Life that came together with countless other “notes of life” to create a larger universe of life that is one single life. The shadows and dimension, of certain sections, as seen in different lights, also show the dynamics of view-able options on a single piece that one can not get in a 2D painting.The piece has opened up paths that I will continue to explore in my work.
